Erika Oliver, SHRM-SCP- Positive Approach Coach - helps teams and organizations find their "happy" to work from a positive approach. Erika uses her expertise in communication along with facilitation and project management to teach others to create optimistic visions, build on strengths, and choose a positive approach.
Erika offers practical and easy-to-use methods and tools using her personal experience as a "recovering pessimist". She relates to people across the happiness spectrum and is passionate about the role of happiness as a personal, organizational and economic necessity. Erika is described as "authentic", "honest", and "real" by her clients and program participants.
She has authored several books including, "Happy Crap: Unleash the Power of Positive Assumptions", and the award-winning "Three Good Things: Happiness Every Day, No Matter What!" Erika speaks at regional and national conferences and is regularly invited to conduct employee workshops and professional coaching. She practices Human Resources in North Carolina.
Erika's background spans health care administration, small business project management, fund development, education and experience with grassroots local agencies. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Nazareth College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Western Michigan University and has been a faculty member at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She is a trained Intrinsic Coach and DiSC facilitator. She earned an Organizational & Human Development Graduate Certificate from Fielding Graduate University. In addition to SHRM-SCP certification, Erika is a certified Project Management Professional.
She has published articles and been quoted in several periodicals and newsletters including Nonprofit World, Healing Garden Journal, Web MD, and Women's World. Erika is a guest on radio programs as an expert resource for positive communication.
Erika grew up, got married and raised two sons in Michigan. In December Erika and her husband, Mark, moved to North Carolina for work and for play. They love the mountains and hike every chance they get.
